Global & International Studies Initiative (GISI) is a research initiative at St. Thomas University which brings together scholars from different academic disciplines who share an interest in global and international issues.

It is becoming increasingly obvious that divisions created in academic disciplines between domestic and international politics, events or relations are artificial. St. Thomas University is an ideal place for this type of cross-disciplinary initiative.

GISI will have an on-line presence dedicated to research sharing. This will enable scholars to explore the work being done by others and they might discover commonalities and decide to reach out and collaborate.

The initiative is funded by Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. SSHRC has granted $90,000, to be paid over three years.
